I've loved games ever since I was young, and creating them has always been my passion. Combined with my love for programming in general, games programming was a natural choice to pursue in my education and professional career.
The kinds of problems you face when programming complex systems are not only incredibly interesting to tackle, but the pay-off of seeing inter-connected and multi-faceted systems facilitate the creation of content is satisfying in a great way (thanks designers!). One day I'd love to work on a game that can evoke an emotional response that can rival some of my favorite games (recently, Zelda: TotK!).
I have received a Bachelor's of Science in Game Development and a Master's of Science in Computer Science from the University of Denver. Pursuing higher education was an incredible opportunity, and was privileged to work alongside wonderful peers, friends, and professors.
I currently work as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver teaching game programming in Unity and Unreal Engine 5. Helping students learn to make games and seeing them pursue their passions is incredibly gratifying, and I enjoy it a lot!
All that being said, I'd love to work directly in the games industry. If you're looking to fill a gameplay programmer position (or any kind of games programming position), please take a look at my resume, or reach out via LinkedIn.
I worked for three years at Ball Corporation in Westminster, CO creating VR and AR training and marketing materials using the Unity game engine. Due to the internal nature of these materials, I cannot publicly share any of the projects I worked on, but I'm more than happy to discuss the scope and responsibilities of my involvement with these amazing projects!
To everyone reading this: please keep making awesome games. Games make the world a better place, and I'd love to see what you're making!
